Through the release of the first image of the Honda E in the form of production, it was officially confirmed that the appearance was 99 percent identical to the previously revealed concept model, or the Honda E Prototype. The electric car that successfully stole a lot of attention will be unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show next week.
Honda will offer two choices of electric motors, those that produce 100 kW (134 horsepower) and 113 kW (152 horsepower) and peak torque of 315 Nm, where the second option can accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in about 8 seconds .
The battery it supports has a capacity of 35.5 kWh and is described by car makers as one of the most compact in its class. Even so, this battery is able to provide mileage range up to 220 km on a single full charge, which according to Honda is perfect for everyday trips in urban areas. Thanks to the fast charging capability, the battery can be recharged to 80 percent capacity in just 30 minutes.
With a rear wheel drive arrangement, the Honda e promises a responsive and enjoyable driving experience, with a sporty and connected sensation.
As promised before, the rear view mirror and pop-out door handle are included in the production car, which gives the Honda e a luxurious and futuristic look. The Side Camera Mirror System is the first in the compact car segment and Honda claims that the system brings significant benefits for style, safety, aerodynamics and perfection.
The interior of the Honda e Prototype is still maintained with a five-widescreen digital dashboard and a connected infotainment system. The 12.3 inch dual LCD touch screen which acts as the main infotainment screen treats the driver and front passenger fairly to ensure they can enjoy the same connectivity and comfort.
Artificial intelligence also comes with Honda Personal Assistant services that use unique contextual understanding to create natural conversation and provide access to a variety of online services. The user can activate the Honda Personal Assistant by saying, "OK Honda", followed by questions or instructions.
While away from the car, the owner can still stay connected using the My Honda + smartphone application which allows access to vehicle status reports, battery charging controls, remote monitors, remote climate control, and security and location monitoring. This application also allows users to lock and unlock cars.
